Team GB - Award of Colours.

Colours are a formal badge awarded in recognition of the sport and year in which someone participated in International competition representing their country. These are managed and awarded by the management bodies of international teams, a process which is agreed with the NGBs - in our case the NRA.

For both GB Gallery Rifle and GB Handgun Teams, the Captains are selected directly by the NRA, supported by the Gallery Rifle Working Party. The GB GR&HG Teams Committee manages and administers the teams.

It has been agreed with the NRA that the Gallery Rifle Working Party and specifically the GB GR & HG Teams Committee will govern and award Colours for people who have competed (i.e. shot as part of the GB team) or have been non-shooting Captains in either an IGRF International Match or a WA1500 International Match.

Anyone who had shot in at least one International (GR and/or HG) will be awarded Colours and be able to order the appropriate badge. These would be ordered at the end of each season. This also applies to non-shooting Captains.

This award is retrospective. We have the records for those who’ve shot in IGRF or WA1500 Internationals since the formal inauguration of both the Gallery Rifle (2010) and Handgun (2023) GB Teams. The Colours will be formally awarded, recipients advised and as a one-off, given the option to buy a badge (estimated cost £10-15) for each year in which they represented GB internationally.

If you would like to purchase a badge(s), please e-mail secretary@gbgr.org
