Jonny is one of our more experienced GR squad members having unbroken service since 2014. During that time, he has earned 10 Colours, has shot in GB GRSB teams 15 times and GB GRCF teams 5 times, shooting in the UK, Germany and Ireland.

He started sporting shooting with his stepdad and then moved into competitive shooting with the Army cadets. Since then he’s been going from strength to strength and hasn’t looked back.

His big breakthrough came when he was part of the GB GRSB Team that won Gold in the IGRF International Match at the Phoenix in 2014. He has continued at this level contributing to international team medal wins ever since, but has also excelled as an individual. In 2022, he was the IGRF GRCF World Champion, an incredible performance against strong competition. He has also done well in the National Championships, medalling consistently in both Centrefire and Small bore and National Champion in GRCF 2015 and 2021 and GRSB 2012, 2023 and 2025.

Despite all this, one of his favourite moments was cleaning the GRSB Multi-target, with 19x. That is only 5X from a full house! He shot that in 2016 and it is still the Phoenix and National Record.

Jonny is the current GB GR Team Vice-Captain, supporting Morné van Dalen. He is also an active volunteer in Scottish shooting, being a member of the Scottish Target Shooting Gallery Rifle Committee.
