Team Administration & Support

The GB Gallery Rifle and Handgun (GB GR&HG) Committee

The role of the GB GB GR&HG Committee is to manage GB representation in international GR and HG competitions.  The Committee operates as a non-profit organisation under a formal Constitution and all Committee members are volunteers. It provides the cohesion between the Gallery Rifle and Handgun aspects, co-ordinates overall requirements such as training, clothing, fundraising and grant provision, statistics etc, builds relationships with the IGRF and the WA1500 including our counterparts in other countries, and ensures we and our teams are good ambassadors for the NRA, our country and our sport.

This enables the Captains to concentrate on providing leadership, training and inspiration for their Squads, a significant commitment in itself. In addition, each shooting squad has an Adjutant, who normally travels with the team and is responsible for such things as tour travel and accommodation, venue logistics and permits etc. The Adjutant is selected by the respective Captain and is an essential part of the squad.

Current membership is as follows:

  • Ash Dagger                         Chair (and member of the IGRF Council)

  • Charles Murton                   Deputy Chair & Treasurer (and member of the IGRF Council)

  • Jacky Lamb                          Secretary

  • Morné van Dalen                2026 Gallery Rifle Captain (and member of the IGRF Council)

  • Dave Harris                          2026 Czech Tour Handgun Captain (and member of the WA1500 Council)

The Committee is supported by additional volunteers, including:

  • Jim Smith                            Fundraising

  • Gail Podevin                       Fundraising

  • David Free                          Corporate Sponsorship

Fundraising

Whilst we are currently looking to expand our corporate sponsorship, we have some established fund raising activities:

• The ‘easyfundraising’ web tool. This is an on-line shopping portal, with hundreds of suppliers, who will make a small donation for every sale made via easyfundraising. Whilst each donation is small, they can really add up! â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

If your club runs an Open competition and you’d like to host a GB stall, please get in touch. Alternatively, if you have anything you’d like to contribute to the stall itself, please bring it along to one of these meetings or email info@gbteamshooting.com

•  We also have arrangements with several suppliers to provide shooting-related equipment and consumables at a discount to GB team members. We are grateful to all people who contribute, whether through easyfundraising, donating to or helping out with the stall or helping us with the costs of components. It all helps to make our International competing more accessible and affordable than it would otherwise be.
