David is a new member of the GB Handgun Team and will be joining the 2026 WA1500 Czech Republic Tour. He has also joined the GB GR & HG Support Group to co-ordinate our Corporate Sponsorship.
David started shooting at the age of 13 with his school Cadet unit and showed an early aptitude and enjoyment for the sport. However, he chose to follow a different sporting career; Figure Skating. He competed with his dance partner, representing the state for 6 years in his native Australia, winning 4 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the National Championships. He is also one of only 3 Australians to have been awarded a British Gold medal in ice dancing from the National Ice Skating Association of the United Kingdom, so David is no stranger to competition; he loves it. He has been living in the UK since 1986, and after retiring from professional ice skating, he turned his attention back to his early love of shooting.
He has been an NRA member since the mid-1980s and is also a member of the Historic Breechloading Smallarms Association. His speciality is handguns with “iron sights” and he has been shooting for over 50 years. He has competed in Practical Pistol and various GR&P disciplines. He also enjoys heritage pistol shooting. He now shoots long-barrel pistol and long-barrel revolver in the UK and won the 1500 long-barrel pistol iron sights event at the UK National Championships in 2025. He is looking forward to shooting internationally.
