Malcolm joined the squad relatively recently in 2023 and has earned 3 colours and 11 caps (8CF and 3SB). He is building a reputation for high performance and is a fully committed team member, competing in the UK, Ireland and Germany each year.
Malcolm began his shooting journey after attending an NRA Open Day at Bisley — an experience that instantly hooked him. After completing the NRA Probationary Course in 2008, he joined a local club and explored a range of disciplines including .22 prone, target rifle, target shotgun, and mini rifle.
Through fellow club members, he discovered Gallery Rifle, which soon became his primary competitive focus. Competitive shooting in GRCF began in 2015, with GRSB and Long Barrel Pistol added in subsequent years.
In 2022, Malcolm joined the Gallery Rifle England squad and competed in the National Championships for the first time. The following year marked a significant milestone with selection to the GB Gallery Rifle Squad and the awarding of first GB colours. Since then he has shot for GB in Ireland, Germany and in the Phoenix at Bisley.
Away from competition, Malcolm is an NRA qualified firearms instructor, a qualified Club Instructor, and a qualified Range Conducting Officer (RCO). He takes great pride in sharing knowledge, supporting new shooters, and promoting the sport across all disciplines. His enthusiasm for shooting extends well beyond the firing point. His only regret? Not discovering this sport sooner.
